There are still enough classic pickups in the US that owners continue to use even with original units, but for those who want to get more out of an old car, tuners offer extensive refinement programs. For example, Kindred Motorworks is ready to take a Chevrolet 3100 pickup truck from the middle of the last century and turn it into a modern electric car, in which high-tech units will be wrapped in a canonical body design.

California specialists are ready to convert any of the pickup trucks produced between 1947 and 1953 into an electric car. The standard internal combustion engine gives way to a 294-horsepower electric motor and a 74 kilowatt-hour battery from KORE Power, which provides a range of up to 320 kilometers. The built-in 6.6 kilowatt charger supports charging at both 120 and 240 volts.

The rear-wheel drive pickup gets disc brakes on all wheels, new electric power rack and pinion steering, and the front suspension makes way for new double-wishbone units. Visually, the Chevrolet 3100 electric car is distinguished by LED optics and a separate windshield.

Inside, a leather seat with headrests, three-point seat belts and heating appears. The choice of driving modes is carried out using a new rotary selector, and modern multimedia with a touchscreen, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is responsible for entertainment. The smartphone has a wireless charging station.

The cargo compartment in the process of conversion also receives improvements. The floor is covered with waterproof wood, and on the left side there is a socket for connecting external energy consumers of 120 watts, for which a 1000-watt inverter is included in the design of the electric vehicle. The first electric Chevrolet 3100 will be handed over to Kindred Motorworks customers in 2024. The cost of an unusual restomod will be from 159 thousand dollars for each electric car.
